Perkins Road Veterinary Hospital
Perkins Road Veterinary Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital, boarding facility, and specialty dentistry and oral surgery practice. In 2019 Dr. Ritchie became the first and only American Veterinary Dental College board certified veterinary dentist and oral surgeon in Louisiana. He sees dental patients from all over the state of Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. He has limited his practice to only dentistry and oral surgery.
By mid-December 2021, remodeling will be complete that will double the size of Dr. Ritchie’s dentistry and oral surgery suite. This much needed extra space will allow room for the use of the cone beam CT unit the practice has just purchased. Cone beam CT provides much greater diagnostic capabilities compared to dental radiographs in detecting diseases and conditions of the oral cavity. In addition, it is far superior to other imaging modalities for surgical planning for jaw fractures, cleft lips and palates, oncologic surgeries, and endodontic procedures.
Dr. Ritchie has two fantastic, highly trained veterinary dentistry technicians who work directly with him on every case. Excellent work, client education, along with patient safety and care is how we start and end every day.
