Dental Vetcations

What is Dental Vetcations?

It’s an opportunity for you to get 10 Race Approved CE hours in veterinary dentistry AND have a vacation at a wonderful destination at the same time! We will lecture for 5 hours each morning and then you can go play for the rest of the day and night. We will host an open bar reception one night and each morning breakfast will be included in your registration.

Who are we?

We are 6 board certified veterinary dentists through the American Veterinary Dental College scattered throughout the US who have a lot in common with you. We all became dentists and oral surgeons after lengthy careers as general practitioners and practice owners. None of us came from academia. We understand how difficult dentistry can be. We understand how tough it is juggling costs, fees, and scheduling. We understand all of this because we have been there and grinded through it as well. We enjoy what we do every day and love teaching.

What will you learn from us?

We will teach you common sense approaches to make dentistry easier. We will teach you how to avoid the most common mistakes – because we have all made them. We will share with you our approaches to costs, fees, and scheduling – what we did then and what we do now. At each CE we will cover many different aspects of dentistry. Our lectures are very laid back and we encourage open discussion and participation. We want dentistry to be fun, rewarding, and profitable for you. We want to help you treat and take better care of your patients. Let’s face it, veterinary school did not provide us with adequate skills and knowledge to handle many of the cases we see daily. We can and will help you with that.

What sets us apart from other CE programs?

Besides being in a different wonderful location for each of our CE courses, you will be learning from up to 6 different boarded veterinary dentists. We know that time away from work means lost income. Since we are not in academia this is the case for us as well. Our CE programs are only two days long with no lectures on Sundays. We wanted Sunday to be a travel day so time away from work was minimal. We have negotiated our discounted room rate to extend 3 days before and 3 days after if you wish to stay longer. This is subject to room availability at each resort.

Lecture Topics:

  • Local and Regional Anesthesia in Veterinary Dentistry, Dr. Kipp Wingo – 1 hour
  • Those Pesky Tooth Roots: How to Avoid Breaking Them and Retrieve Them Quickly and Efficiently, Dr. Curt Ritchie – 1 hour
  • Tips and Tricks for Efficient Surgical Extractions, Dr. Sharon Startup – 2 hours
  • Feline Dentistry for the General Practitioner, Dr. Eric Rachwitz – 1 hour
  • How to Improve Dental Radiograph Imaging and Interpretation, Dr. Steve Honzelka – 1 hour
